What is the longest time for a synthetic oil to remain in the car?

I have a mercedes 240 20o2 with only 44000 miles I use it very little. How is the longest time that I should keep the synthetic oil in the carWhat is the longest time for a synthetic oil to remain in the car?
Let the oil sensor in the car do the work for you. It measures the impurities in the oil and based on this as well as the amount of the time the vehicle sits, it will tell you when your next oil change should be done. What is the longest time for a synthetic oil to remain in the car?
If you use the car very little you should change it once a year regardless of the amount of miles you drive, but don't ever go over 7,500 miles between changes. That's what Mereceds recommends. Use Mobil1 0w40, and replace the drain plug gasket (part #072601-014106) every time you change the oil.

Some folks wait too long between changes, and the engine eventually stops running because of sludge......they think that synthetic oil never wears out! Synthetic loses its viscosity and lubricating ability the same as conventional oil,,,,,,,it just takes longer for it to happen.
Synthetic oil is not suitable for older engines.

What oil is recommended in your service schedule?

If it is semi-synthetic then you can stretch synthetic out to possibly double the recommended miles.

If the service schedule states fully synthetic then stick to your recommended intervals.
I never go more than 6000 miles.I change filter at 3000 and add a quart of regular oil. Most of us drive severe, thats stop and go.If you ran like a 18 wheeler coast to coast, you could go 25,000 miles.Changing filters and topping off every 10,000 miles.
synthetic oil does not wear out. it only gets dirty.

I have left it in for a year or so.. and change just

the filter between changes witch I would do about

every other year.. my truck held 8 qts so it was

a big expense to change.. at $6 a qt.
yeah i wanna know that too i have an older bmw and they say its better for an older car i think its 5000 miles not sure
Should change oil every 12000 miles or on yearly basis.

Check your books should tell you in there.

The first ten minutes of driving any car is the worst its when all the damage happens. I always use Castrol GTX Magnetec oil in my cars as it starts to work from the moment u turn the key.
I go about 8,000 miles on Amsoil synthetic for my diesel VW. My Mom's diesel runs Mobil 1 Synthetic. It usually goes 10,000 miles. It can probably go longer, but I prefer to change it more often. Anything on nonsynthetic, I go 3000 miles.
If it was my car, once a year with Amsoil AFL 5W-40 synthetic, even if you don't drive many miles. Make sure the oil you are using meets Mercedes Benz spec 229.51. Amsoil AFL does: http://www.amsoil.com/lit/databulletins/鈥?/a>
