you can drill a 6000 foot deep well in 3 weeks. It may take 8 weeks to go 12000 feet and 4 months to 25000 feet deep. drilling isn't the time constraint. Look at some rigs in the link. It make take 3 years to build a rig for the deep water. Once the rig is out in the water, it will drill more than 20 wells and up to 60 wells from one nonmoveable rig.
