What would be the best diesel car to purchase to convert to run on vegetable oil?

I am looking to purchase a diesel car that I can convert to run on vegetable oil. Thank you. What would be the best diesel car to purchase to convert to run on vegetable oil?
The Mercedes 300SDL/300SD was ideal, but because more people know about people wanting to do SVO, the price for them gotten unreasonably. And I don't feel like driving a 25 year old boat around either.

To me a VW Passat TDI wagon would be better, but I have issue with the cost of changing the timing belt. With normal timing belt change costing about $600, the 1.9 tdi cost about $1200. That $600 may offset the saving in running SVO.What would be the best diesel car to purchase to convert to run on vegetable oil?
look for old cars early 90's is going to be your best bet you also need to get a kit to allow your car to run on vegi oil. www.greasecar.com will have the products you'll need. yes you can run the car without installing the kit but as soon as the temp. outside drops your car won't start and you'll have a lot of issues. i strongly suggest getting the kit.

look at merc. benz
