Peppermint Oil to get rid of rats?

Has anyone used peppermint oil to get rid of rats? I have only heard a few people talk about it but they have swore by it. Looking to hear a bit more feed back and where to get it?Peppermint Oil to get rid of rats?
I have used a ';Rat Zapper'; (google it) very successfully for several years. You put cat or dog food in one end and turn it on. It takes batteries. The rat/mouse enters to eat the food and it electrocutes them. It's humane and you don't have to touch or look at the dead rodent. I have killed over 30 rats in the past 4 years in my garage using this product. I highly recommend it.Peppermint Oil to get rid of rats?
No, don't waste your time or money. Peppermint oil is used as a deterent when saturated cotton balls are place in the rodents entry ways. Your best bet really is a trap. Are you sure they're rats and not mice? They have traps were the vermin go in for food and get stuck, you can't see them, they're not have-a-heart traps. I prefer peanut butter on the mouse or rat trap. Place the trap where you have seen evidence that they are in the area. Remember, rodents have big families and come in to breed in the winter. Once a rodent has been caught, set the trap again. You may kill 9 or more before you get them all. If you are brave, look to see if you are killing males or females (it's obvious). The more females gone the better, once you are no longer killing females your job will soon be done.
