same amount, but melt the butterI am going to replace oil in a recipie for butter. how much butter do i put if it needs 1/2 cup of oil?
Butter and oil are /almost/ equivalent. Butter is 80% fat. Oil is 100% fat. The balance of the butter is water and solids.

Try a straight substitute. It won't ruin anything, but if it is not perfect, see the source for a Plan B. How you proceed depends on the total amount of liquid the recipe calls for in addition to the oil, if any.

The butter will improve the overall taste of the brownies. Enjoy. And let me know how they turn out !!!
1/2 cup is a 1/2 of cup, therefore 1 stick of butter. Melt the butter on a low temp so it will mix in the same way oil blends in with the recipe. I bet that will turn out great. I am going to have to experiment with that concept.
We always replace oil during baking for apple sauce in cakes and brownies. You use the same amount and it taste great! Give it a try, it makes desserts much healthier. Hope you like it
Don't do it. Butter is better.
same amount, melt the butter..like the other person said...
you use the exact same amount when replacing oil with butter .
Yep, same amount. Butter is just solid milk fat.
I would use a couple of big chunks.
depends how much oil is in a certain amount of butter
