my car is a 98 VW Passat. It's a inline-4, 1.8 L with turbo.How often should i change the transmission oil?
This depends on how you drive your car. A lot of city driving is not only hard on your engine, it is just as hard on your tranny. Heat and stop and go will tear down that fluid faster than nice highway cruising. If you do a lot of city driving, no more than 50,000 miles for a fluid change. Highway miles, you can go 80,000 miles. How often should i change the transmission oil?
if automatic, drain %26amp; fill every 15K and full service every 30K-
best policy if in any extreme condition(hot weather, extreme cold, dirty/dusty ect...
It is a cheap way to extend the life of your transmission--do it once a year and you will see that savings in the long run.
you should probably change it in like 4 or 5 months depending on how you car runs and how often u drive it.if u really want to know check the 2 links.
every 80k miles
some recommend every 30k to 60k miles..check dealership for recommend service
all cars are different, it should say in your manual. usually around 60-75k miles if not more...
