Can anything be used instead of penetrating oil to loosen a VERY TIGHT kitchen faucet nut?

I was wondering if WD40 would be OK to use,

Or, would that ruin the seal of the future connection, or something? Can anything be used instead of penetrating oil to loosen a VERY TIGHT kitchen faucet nut?
WD40 probably wouldn't hurt anything but it probably wouldn't do much good either. The usual reason that sink faucet parts are difficult to remove, is corrosion or a buildup of lime in the threads area. Try a bit of Lime Away or CLR, or even just plain old vinegar in as strong a solution as you can find. That may dissolve some of the limescale and allow the piece to unscrew. Can anything be used instead of penetrating oil to loosen a VERY TIGHT kitchen faucet nut?
belive it or not hairspray works well if you cant get it after that contact manufacturer and get new nut then cut old one off factory lifetime warranty
WD-40 is fine. Try tapping it with a hammer, sometimes that breaks up the corrosion or whatever and allows the oil to penetrate.
Wd is fine any oil will work, it will not damage any seals it actually helps them buy preventing dry rot, keeps them lubricated and pliable. Look closely at the thread on the nut, some plumbing fixtures have reverse threads.
put a wrench on it and tap the wrench with a hammer, tap the end farthest away from the nut. make sure the wrench is the right size or you will strip the nut.tap it back and forth to try to break loose any rust or corrosion, and spry it with a lubricant often while tapping.
Wow....that sounds very kinky!
